Next New

We live in a world where everything is happening at a very fast pace. I feel that everything has been built and there isn't any room for anything newer than the established product. I feel that we should just refine the ideas that we use to ease it more than it already is. There is always ro for an updated version. Updates should be made to the ideas and things that are in use. I belive that everything should include technology as its means. The power of technology simplifies the work load of the labor done by people. For example, technology in MTA is much needed. We should be able to access the subway with our phones rather than the metrocard. We should be able to get access of real time situations such as the exact location of where the train is and estimated time of how much longer we should wait or the idea for a detour should be presented to us in a matter of minutes.
With technology expanding, people want to rush and everything needs to happen at a faster pace. So, it's only valid to update our systems much more often for it to be validated and up to date.

  1. Technology in the MTA is definitely most needed. I think metro cards are becoming overrated and using our smartphones would be so much more convenient. Not to mention the price of fare is always increasing; therefore, they need to invest in new ideas.

  2. The idea about using our smartphones to replace the metro cards is definitely progressive, but there is a large number of people who still use flip phones, or some that don't have phones at all (for example the eldery that don't understand new technology). I guess it depends on how the phone can be used, or if the MTA decides the segment with smartphones is large enough to support the project. The service of real-time tracking is definitely worth while. They should at least install it in more major stations right now because it is so frustrating to wait for an express train and seeing 3 local trains go by. Then when the express train finally comes, you could have been halfway home already, but here you are stuck on the most crowded train because all the people piled up waiting for this one train.

  3. Ah man, I really enjoyed reading your blog. Finally, someone mentions how the MTA is a huge need of a newer technology. The MTA has been using the same system since it first came out. It is an ancient technology.
