Next New

We live in a world where everything is happening at a very fast pace. I feel that everything has been built and there isn't any room for anything newer than the established product. I feel that we should just refine the ideas that we use to ease it more than it already is. There is always ro for an updated version. Updates should be made to the ideas and things that are in use. I belive that everything should include technology as its means. The power of technology simplifies the work load of the labor done by people. For example, technology in MTA is much needed. We should be able to access the subway with our phones rather than the metrocard. We should be able to get access of real time situations such as the exact location of where the train is and estimated time of how much longer we should wait or the idea for a detour should be presented to us in a matter of minutes.
With technology expanding, people want to rush and everything needs to happen at a faster pace. So, it's only valid to update our systems much more often for it to be validated and up to date.

P2P

Filesharing is the concept which refers to Transferring or transmitting of files from one computer to another with the use of another network or internet. The term P2P refers to "peer-to-peer" networking. A peer-to-peer network allows computer hardware and software to function without the need for special server devices. P2P is an alternative to client-server network design. One example of P2P is BitTorrent. BitTorrent helps get information from one network to another. My personal example would consist of me trying to download music off the internet. Some of the websites do not allow you to download music directly to your computer, so you have BitTorrent which converts the data sent by the server to provide you with the music you need. "The P2P successes contributed to new market creation. It created a mass of music lovers who consumed music in a very different way."

Wiki So Far

I have made changes to different types of pages. One page is the Youtube page, where I gave input on the the most viewed factor of the page. I also submitted an updated photograph of the Instagram look.  I also made many updates on the new media page in the columns of Social Media and also A New Way Of Making Money. I feel that there isn't much that I have worked on. Wiki is much tougher than it looks, but I will make an effort to better understand the ins and outs of the way that wiki works. There is a lot to contribute. I just need to find the right subject of my choice to express my viewpoint in a factual manner.

Privacy

New media has opened up their platform for many activities to take place. Activities include staying connected on social media, reading articles, stalking your crush, making a purchase, anything else that occurs on the world wide web. The information that you provide is meant to be confidential and private, but there are people out there who are always in search of the loopholes that can retrieve your  information that is meant for confidentiality and privacy such as your bank account information, or your email information, or any sort of personal information. People need to gain an understanding and knowledge of what information to put out to the world in the new media platform. The user must be very careful when entering personal information and take in consideration of the consequences that could take place when personalized information is on the internet. The information that is confidential should be given back up. Nothing should be done to an extremity because the personal information provided is valuable to the beholder and also who seeks the information for any wrong deed. It would be the safest bet to provide the least information applicable.

Advice

As an employee in the Baruch community, i would like to implement multiple use of the new media platform. In terms of staying connected, then the students will be given the opportunity to follow any social media pages that regards to Baruch College. Facebook would give great information about what events are coming up in the near future, while Twitter could give feed on what is happening in the moment. Snapchat would be amazing because it gives the visual of what is happening live during the event. These platforms can come in handy for students to get more involved. If there is a concert going on, or any kind of club event that needs a ticket, then it can be made available online. If it is an online class, then the teacher could post their lecture on Youtube or create a blog or also a Facebook group page.
